Healthy Kids Oregon
HEALTHY KIDS OREGON LAUNCHES CAMPAIGN FOR FAIR CHILDREN’S HEALTH!

Protecting the health of our children and the future health of our state — that’s an idea every Oregonian can support. And it’s why we are proud to join with a groundbreaking and diverse coalition of Oregonians in support of Measure 50 on this November’s statewide ballot.

Measure 50 will provide the more than 100,000 uninsured children with the health care they need, strengthen proven anti-smoking programs, and save taxpayers millions in reduced insurance rates and fewer medical costs for second-hand smoke-related illnesses.

You know that when children don’t have health insurance, they don’t get the health care they need when they need it. Instead they may wait for hours in local emergency rooms for routine medical check-ups while taxpayers foot the bill. We look forward to playing a key role in this winning campaign to make Oregon a national leader in children’s health, and we need you to join us.

Show your support today. Take a minute right now to visit http://healthykids-oregon.org/ to sign up for regular email updates and see how you can help.  Show your support for Measure 50 by emailing us pictures of your children to post to the website!  Show fellow Oregonians how cute your kids are AND support health care for kids? Now, that’s the kind of advocacy everybody likes…

SEND US PHOTOS OF YOUR FAVORITE KIDS!

To remind Oregonians of what this effort is all about, the Healthy Kids Campaign has started a photo blog on the website.

The message is simple: The wealthiest nation on earth should be the healthiest nation on earth.

That’s why we are asking you to send electronic photographs of your favorite kids — your own, your neighbors’, your students — whether they are fortunate to have health insurance or not.  Simply click here or send an email with an electronic photo, and a brief story or description, to photos@healthykids-oregon.org.

Let’s keep our focus on the ultimate goal of this campaign — a “Yes!” vote on Measure 50 so that when it comes to Oregon’s kids, the right to see a doctor is more than just a promise.

Measure 50 is supported by the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, and the American Lung Association. Also playing key roles are the Oregon PTA, the Oregon Medical Association, the Oregon Nurses Association, Children First for Oregon, Stand For Children, Oregon Association of Hospitals and Health Systems and organized labor including the AFL-CIO and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and many other organizations and individuals. Please check our website for the ever-growing list of coalition members.

Please join us and help make Oregon a place where every child has a chance at health.
